1. Lateral load multiplied by 0.75 for strength determination per AISI A5.1.3.
2. Check end reactions for web crippling.
3. Limiting heights based on continuous support of each flange over the full length of the stud.
BRIDGING REQUIREMENTS
Bridging of wall framing resisting wind (Traverse) loading only, with no axial loading applied, can be accomplished by the attachment of wall sheathing to both sides of the studs. However, during construction, usually only the exterior side of the studs is sheathed.
It is recommended that during construction minimum 2" wide steel straps be run horizontally on the interior stud flanges and attached to each stud.
The vertical spacing of the straps should not exceed 6'-0" on center.
